March 3rd, 2008At this year’s VSTE Conference held in Roanoke, I had the opportunity to meet with Victor Gosnell of Bedford County, Virginia, and talk about a number of things.Victor is the 2007 recipient of the Virginia Department of Education’s Educational Technology Leadership Award. We talk about some of his favorite “techno tools and toys” in this interview, as well as his thoughts on Internet filtering in schools. Victor currently serves as the Director of Technology and Media for Bedford’s public schools.

Interview with Bert Hardy
December 28th, 2007At the end of 2007, I had the opportunity to interview a Goochland, Virginia parent, Mr. Bert Hardy. Mr. Hardy is Vice President of IT, and the CIO of S&K Famous Brands, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. I interviewed Mr. Hardy about the use of technology in business and his ideas about the role of technology in education. He shared with us his ideas for helping students become empowered with technology, underwritten through his efforts in a non-profit organization called TechReach of Central Virginia.
